What Can I Eat if I Have Diabetes?

The prevalence of diabetes—especially type 2 diabetes—has dramatically increased over the past 50 years and disproportionately affects low-income people who are food insecure. Many adults with diabetes who are also food insecure may lack access to the right kinds of nutritious foods to properly manage their diabetes. However, many food pantries are using “Diabetes-Friendly” signage and shelf tags to help the people they serve make easy, appropriate food choices for their health needs.
