At First Glance: Hunger, Health & Equity | Spotlight on Older Adults

Food insecurity impacts every community in the U.S., yet adults ages 65 years and older, experience higher rates of food insecurity combined with multiple chronic health conditions. Approximately 77% of older adults have two or more chronic health conditions. This issue brief developed by Feeding America’s Health Equity Action League (HEAL) describes food and health disparities within the older adult population and offers suggestions on immediate actions individuals and organizations can take to advance health equity and ensure all have a fair opportunity to live long and healthy lives.
